BPSAA - What it is and why it's important.

The BPSAA is the Blockchain Privacy, Security & Adoption Alliance.  You may not have heard of the BPSAA yet, but that is in part because they are a fairly new group just forming this year.  The original idea came from a conversation between members of Pirate Chain and Turtle Network.  The Alliance finally came to fruition with these two projects as well as Sentinel and Ether-1.  Their official launch was February 12, 2020.

The mission as stated on their website is "The Blockchain Privacy, Security & Adoption Alliance (BPSAA) sets the standard for collaboration and the products and services produced. We create solutions that allow us to accomplish our personal project goals, as well as create interoperability between our ecosystem’s products and services."  They go on to state their core values as: Privacy, Security, Adoption, and Collaboration.  This nicely aligns with their name and is a succinct description of values for which they stand.

The value of a working collaboration like this one can't be overstated.  Launching a successful blockchain project with longevity and profitability is not the easiest thing in the world to do.  You need to build a community for adoption and you need to build the tools necessary to support your projects goal.  But not only your projects goal, but all the supplemental things that are needed to keep a project running and growing.  That's where this alliance really shows some brilliance.  

An idea was born between two teams and quickly grew to launch with four projects collaboratively.  In just a few months the alliance has on-boarded three additional members (more on that later) and has shown solid growth potential.  Projects can apply to be part of the alliance and appreciate the member benefits stated on their website.  This collaboration gives member projects the strength of collective resources as well as instant connections to projects that can benefit each other.  Each member project brings something to the table to strengthen the group.  Each project of the founding members is described on the website as follows:

"Pirate Chain is a 100% private send cryptocurrency that utilizes ZK-Snarks to shield it’s transactions. Backed by Komodo’s Delayed Proof of Work, it is considered the most anonymous and secure cryptocurrency in the world."

"Turtle Network is an Open, Trusted, Secure, Distributed Blockchain Network combining best of breed features which include highly scalable Smart Contracts, Decentralized Exchange (DEX), Gateways for Network Interoperability, Easy Token Issuance, LPOS consensus Nodes & passive earning through $TN Leasing."

"Ether-1 is a community governance driven service node crypto ecosystem which provides a highly resilient, decentrally focused content and website hosting network. The project’s motto is #DecentralizeEverything, including all aspects of operations."

"Sentinel is a multi-protocol network where users and applications can access a global distributed services and resources marketplace, built upon a decentralized global infrastructure with pseudonymity, immutability and global consensus."

So right from the launch they have a collaborative network of private cryptocurrency, a no-KYC DEX, a decentralized web hosting platform, and a global service and resource infrastructure with a decentralized VPN.  This is where we get into the why this is important.  Without getting political we can all see that there are places in the world that do not have access to freedom of thought and expression, freedom of information or a free market of exchange and resources.  When leveraged collectively these projects can provide a level of freedom to those who may have trouble accessing it otherwise.

On May 13, 2020 the Alliance announced the addition of ERGO, which is described as "a smart contracts and DeFi platform that offers powerful but safe smart contracts, with Sigma protocols enabling flexible, highly composable applications out of the box. Their team is comprised of blockchain researchers, many developers and a strong community. Their chain is based on Sigma protocols and utilizes zero knowledge proofs and enables ring signature and threshold signature functionalities."

This was followed by another announcement on May 25, 2020 of two new partnerships with Cryptocurrency Checkout and Human Action.  BPSAA describes the benefits of these new partnerships in their announcement...

"Cryptocurrency Checkout is a growing player in the payment gateway industry for crypto. Offering non-custodial crypto payment services for a multitude of different platforms, their gateway is not only simple to use, but free for people to use. Whether it’s WooCommerce, Shopify, Twitter, Twitch or the many other integrations, Store Owners, Streamers and Inernet Personalities can accept crypto payments and donations through Cryptocurrency Checkout. Through this partnership, they will be adding the members of the BPSAA’s coins and tokens to their expanding selection of payment options for their users."

"Human Action, widely known for their quality merchandise and thier stance on privacy and freedoms, has partnered with the BPSAA to create merchandise for not only the BPSAA, but all of it’s members as well. The members of the BPSAA are esctatic over having a line of merchandise to expand their name recognition, especially since it will be produced through Human Action. Be on the lookout for BPSAA branded merch, as well as branded merch for each of our members!"
